Watch the full 1-hour training video
This 1-hour training presents the transient response for an oil and gas well with limited perforations or partial penetration. After focusing on the matching process, a “live” well test interpretation is performed on an oil production well, using PIE and Saphir softwares.
Training Objectives
What are the training objectives ?
The main objectives are to:
-
Learn the typical transient responses and derivative shapes for a well with limited perforations/partial penetration,
-
Understand the uncertainty on the well and reservoir parameters for various cases.
-
Learn the matching process so as to extract the reservoir permeability, limited perforation height or the entire net reservoir thickness.
-
Understand the different skin elements associated with limited perforations.
Agenda
What will be covered ?
After a quick PTA refresher, the typical response and matching process are presented for a well with limited perforations or partial penetration. The second part of the video shows a “live” well test interpretation on an oil production well using PIE and Saphir softwares.
The areas covered are:
-
Definition of limited perforations / partial penetration
-
Typical responses and derivative shapes
-
Matching process and associated uncertainties
-
“Live” exercise using PIE and Saphir softwares to interpret PBU tests from a production well.
