This 1-hour training presents the ideal horizontal well response. After focusing on the PTA response and matching process, a “live” well test interpretation is performed on an oil horizontal well, using PIE and Saphir softwares.

Training Objectives

What are the training objectives ? 
The main objectives are to:
  • Learn the typical transient response and derivative shape for a horizontal well,
  • Understand the uncertainty on the well and reservoir parameters for various cases.
  • Learn the matching process so as to extract the reservoir horizontal permeability, horizontal drain length and vertical permeability.
  • Interpret a horizontal well using the PIE and Saphir well test softwares.
